If a surgeon sees a new patient in his office, then he sends the pt to the hospital where later that day he performs excision of infected abscess, can I bill the OV? Or do I just bill the surgery procedure?
Just not sure how to bill this.

Yes we can bill both the service without modifier. If may be admitted on same provider on that day we can't bill office visit .

you would have to submit two separate claims because your POS is different. If the Dr saw pt in his office then sent him to the ER and pt was seen in ER or OBS or inpt then you'd combine the documentation and only bill one E/M code for that day.
