Hi. I am looking for what portion of the aorta is required for billing an abdominal aorta runoff study. How high or how much of the abdominal aorta is required to bill? I have not found what level it must start at. Thank you.

I just wanted to double check but your asking for a CTA?

I don't have a "black and white" reference, but they want renals for an aortogram, so It makes sense it would be required for a CTA too. I hope that helps.

the CPT description is abdominal aorta and bilateral iliofemorals so
I would say at minimum renals to iliofemorals, just reading the lower aorta at the bifurcation, and just the iliac arteries, isn't enough.
