Dr. performed a cabg. In addition the op notes lists an "aortotomy and direct inspection of the left main orifice". Is there a code for this additional work? ::confused:

Not that I'm aware of. You might consider the use of a 22? That might work if he can prove through dictation that it was medically necessary and an increased procedural service. Have you researched to make sure it would not be included with the CABG? It could very well be, I've just never encountered that with my CABG's.
