Wanted to see how many of you out there have coding staff that work their appeals vs having a billing staff with limited coding knowlege working them.
Thanks

appeals/denials

I'm a CPC and I work all denials/appeals for a billing company, I'm not actually doing the coding for the denials/appeals in question but working denials for doctors who are doing there own coding.

all our denials and appeals are worked by our billing department, which i find to be a problem with timely filing issues, only because they are put on a spreadsheet and then sent to the supervisor of the department and she has to advise them if they should appeal or not. that takes time away from the supervisory position. i am use to working denials as soon as i get them along with appeals
