Hello,
What is the difference between arthritis (716.9) and osteoarthrosis (715.9)?When my physician states arthritis, I code it as 716.94, However i am seeing others code it as 715.14, but the note does not say localized idiopathic.
Your thoughts please, thanks!:confused:
 
Arthiritis is joint inflammation, where osteoarthritis is a form of artritis with progressive cartilage deterioration. If your doctors are writing only Arthiritis I would go with 716.9*.
