I just started coding in an ortho office, my provider did an aspiration of a knee joint 20610 with an em visit that I coded to a 99213. Is it okay to code the em and procedure 99213-25, 20610?

Any advise is appreciated

Was the reason for the office visit an aspiration or was this a new complaint and the doctor assessed an injection procedure?

What injectible medication is allowed to be billed with 20610?

I understand that the topical anesthesia is not allowed, but what about the lidocaine or Marcaine that is mixed with the dexamethasone or other steroid?
