How would you code the following? This was performed by the physician and the MRI is billed by the MRI facility. Our physician just does the MR Arthro injections.
"We discussed the risks and benefits of the procedure, and informed consent is in the chart. He was placed in a left lateral side-lying position, and the right posterior glenohumeral joint was visualized with ultrasound. A 22-gauge spinal needle was introducted into the skin after cleansing of the overlying skin with alcohol, and 1% lidocaine was instilled into the posterior glenohumeral joint to scout needle tip placement for local anesthesia, 4 ml of lidocaine 1% lidocaine were instilled. This was followed by instillation of 8 mL of a solution consisting of 10 mL normal saline, 10 mL iodinated contrast, and 0.1 mL gadolinium contrast. Needle tip visualization was attained the entire time with ultrasound. He tolerated the procedure well. Single scout AP film demonstrated intra-articular contrast. He was taken to MRI for a routine right shoulder MRI."
