Arthroscopic chondrocyte harvesting from knee

The physician is going to be performing autologous chondrocyte implantation (27412). How do you code the arthroscopic chondrocyte harvesting from the knee. CPT code 29870 or S2112. Thanks for the help.

Code 29870 is listed as a "Separate Procedure" which means you can't bill with a procedure in the same area.

Thanks for. This is a 2 part procedure. The chondrocyte harvesting is performed on one day and the autologous chondrocyte implantation (27412) is another day.

I would use the 29870, it states in CPT book under 27412 to use that code for harvesting
