I know 29877 is now bundled into 29881.
My question is if the operative note says "trimmed with a shaver to a good cartilage bed",
can that be coded with 29879??

Can someone clarify that for me?

29879. No, it should state smoothed down to .....bone which promotes bleeding or drill holes into the bone to create tiny fractures....not just the cartilage bed.......hence the bone should bleed. The key here is bone.

29877. Cartilage.
