I code for anesthesia. The GI doctor inserted a pH probe for GERD. CPT code 91034 The patient was put under anesthesia. He only inserted the probe going thru the nose. No endoscopy was performed. Since this code does not require anesthesia, I have to find the best match. Does anyone know of anyone else that has come across this scenario? 00740 is for endoscopy procedure, I have looked at closed chest, unlisted esophagus, none of them really fit the description. I really don't want to use the unlisted anesthesia code which is 01999. Thanks
