How would you code the following:
Patient scheduled for procedure in ASC, during pre-op physician decides to cancel the procedure due to respiratory issues and transferred patient to the hospital to evaluation.
Physician states there is a CPT code to use for incomplete procedure in pre-op. Is there such a code, because I cannot locate. I explained to the physician that we can code an E&M code for his evaluation of the patient.
Has anyone come across this issue in the past and what was the outcome?
