As we move forward with the ASC Quality Reporting process, I was wondering, if we were to be audited by Medicare, would we be penalized if we do not have documentation to support the ASC Quality Reporting process Gcode listed on the claim. We have created our own form for the ASC's to send to our billers when an event happens, but if there is no event; our billers just add the appropriate G code with no supporting documentation as no event happened. So, would this be counted against us?
I have so far not been able to find an answer to this question on the many guidelines I have read. Does anyone know the answer to this question?
