Hello! I'm stuck on a surgery case and need some help.

We have a patient who was taken to the OR for an exploratory lap. After the incision was made, the surgeon visualized and aspirated ascites from the abdomen. At that point, the laparascope was inserted.

Am I right in thinking I need to bill 49320 + 49082? The only other option I see is 49322 but since he specifically states the ascites were noted on "direct visualization", I ruled that out.

Thanks!
Tracy
