I am coding a atherectomy with angioplasty and stent in the LD CPT 92933-LD, I also need to code angioplasty with stent in the diagonal LD no atherectomy was done on the diagonal so do i use 92928? and if so what modifier 51,LD? I am assuming they would need to report to verify 2nd stent.

You only need to add the coronary artery modifier. No need for 59 or 51

Since the diagonal is a branch of the LD and an intervention was done on the LD you would code the diagonal as 92929-LD.

I agree with expresso guy. Can anyone advise me what the MD should be documenting to support billing the atherectomy billing? My MD's always choose 92933 when it is only documented for a 92928 as there isn't anything stating rotational, rotafloppy and/or rotational can anyone please advise?
