does anyone know if it is possible to bill for athletic trainers in an outpatient physical medicne and rehabilitation clinic? I do know medicare does not reimburse for these services... trying to find out if the service can be billed as O/P rehab. ; ie: cpt 97005, 97006, or is it considered a therapy type session

First of all, you need to check with your state's payors as well as if they are licensed or certified by your state's licensing comission. Then look for codes to bill.

Are you billing a facility claim or a provider claim? if it is a provider claim the trainers must have individual NPI numbers you cannot bill under the physician for services provided in the facility.
