Hello...has anyone come across a procedure done at the same time as valve repairs, where the atrium is reduced in size by folding it in so that it doesn't impinge into the lung?

The only code I see for an atrioplasty is 33417 but that is for supravalvular stenosis. I'm wondering if I need to use an unlisted code?

Why not try a 22 instead? I have not heard of that but I know when left atrial appendage is done in conjuntion with certain procedures we add a 22 but do not bill an unlisted code. Hopefully the physcian made documentation that this was increased, challenging and that it took more time because of it. Maybe query the physician and see what he thinks; should you use an unlisted or add modifier 22?

My two cents.
