Wiki Attempted bone marrow biopsy

I have a question regarding a bone marrow biopsy attempt. The patient has medicare and medicaid insurance. They come to the office for a bone marrow biopsy, it was attempted but not successful because of obesity issues with the patient. Is there anything at this point to bill? Only the tray was provided and package opened to use the syringe and we have been told not to bill the tray to either Medicare or Medicaid. Any thoughts? Thanks

I can see it's been a while since you posted this, so I wonder if you still need advice. Barring that, can you tell me what the documentation describes for the procedure including up to, and the point of, stopping the procedure due to the patient's obesity?
