May I get some feedback on this?
Incision taken down from the external occipital protuberance out over the spinous process of C3. Subperiosteal dissection was carried out over the posterior elements and inferior occiput. Tissue removed at the foramen magnum. soft tissue was dissected free from C1, C2 and C3. Titanium wires passed first from C2, un under C1.
Rods to skull base: Articulated rod system was used to facilitate clamping. Prior to initiating drilling and tapping of the bolts for fixing the rod to the skull base, NM indicated absent. Decision was made to remove the sublaminar components dispite the fact that no compression was appreciated.
