Can E/M codes be billed by an Audiologist Tech for POS (13). Also are codes 92577, 92590, 92550, 92558 92626 billable for POS (13). thank you

CMS does not allow audiologists or technicians to bill E&M codes. You would need to check with your MAC to see what audiology services they allow technicians to provide, and what qualifications and levels of supervision are required. (Per the Medicare Benefit Policy Manual - "The qualifications for technicians vary locally and may also depend on the type of test, the patient, and the level of participation of the physician who is directly supervising the test. Therefore, an individual must meet qualifications appropriate to the service furnished as determined by the MAC to whom the claim is billed.") However, since any services would have to be provided under the appropriate level of physician supervision, if these are being provided in POS 13, the physician would likely need to be present at the facility too.

There's a section of the CMS Medicare site specifically for audiology that is a good starting point for researching the regulations and requirements for this category of services:

Thank you
