I am new to auditing and trying to get things together as I have taken on a new role. I am taking the NAMAS auditing class this weekend and I am hoping to learn alot!

I am using the 97 guidelines and have a question regarding the exam: When the doctor indicates "Face exam normal". I am not sure if this gets credit as it seems that alot of physicians are using this term. Does this get scored?

There are so many tools and templates out there, I can not seem to determine which one is best suited for scoring using 97 guidelines. Any thoughts?

Thanks

If it clarifies more, I am using a template for general multisystem. It appears that other templates use this term and gives credit, but I am not sure about this.

I am auditing for Pediatrics E/M codes.

Thanks,
