Help! I have a payer that is stating I need another digit on F84.0, but I am not finding any relevant information stating such. This DX is for a non-verbal 10 yr ped patient who receives speech therapy services. ASHA states the following - The ICD-10-CM code for ASD—F84.0 (autistic disorder)—should be the physician’s or psychologist’s diagnosis (typically required by payers) of the underlying medical condition, documented in the patient’s medical record.
