We are getting conflicting information about AWV being done via telehealth after 1/30/26. I have seen on CMS that it is excluded from the restrictions, therefore we can continue to do AWV via telehealth. Others are saying ALL telehealth will stop. Does anyone have any evidence or proof that AWV will still be able to be continued? It is on the permanent telehealth list so I am confused.

Hi, the telehealth waivers that allow all Medicare patients to receive telehealth from home are in effect until Dec. 31, 2027. CMS updated its Telehealth FAQ to reflect the latest changes https://www.cms.gov/files/document/telehealth-faq-updated-02-04-2026.pdf
If a service is on the telehealth list, it is covered.
Also, any claims that all telehealth benefits for Medicare will end when waivers expire are wrong. At worst things will revert to the traditional telehealth coverage, but the Medicare telehealth benefit is a law and Congress would have to pass a law to end it.
