Physician documents as final dx: bacterial pharyngitis. Would 034.0 be a correct dx for this dx?

Thanks for any help.

Code 034.0 is for streptococcal sore throat (septic and streptococcal). Only if you are sure it is caused by group A streptococcal infection, which is detected by an antigen test or a throat culture, then can you put this code.
A number of different bacteria can infect the human throat. The most common is Group A streptococcus, however others include Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydophila pneumoniae, and Mycoplasma pneumonia.

if you are not sure which kind, then put 462.
