We have acquired a new Bariatric practice and they have a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) that does intermittent ‘Exercise Counseling’ Consultations post-op from the patient’s bariatric surgery. They are billing either a 99211 or 98960 for this service with Z72.81 Exercise Counseling. They are billing under the supervising physician or midlevel in an incident to type of scenario.



Has anyone ever heard of billing this service for an unlicensed person?



Does anyone have any guidelines from any payor that indicates this form of coding/billing?
