Wiki Bariatric surgery postop care

I need to know how a surgeon can bill for postop medical management of his bariatric patients while hospitalized. Our physician manages the patient's medical care (eg. htn, DM, morbid obesity etc) while in hospital, post op.....

I would think this is included in his surgical fee.

I would think this is included. These procedures have a 90 post op period, correct? If so, it would be inappropriate. The only time would be if the patient was seen for something totaling different/unrelated, and a different dx and/or modifier would need to be added.
