Can someone tell me if the base units change for CPT 00812 from 3 base units to 4 base units in 2020?

Hello, has anyone been able to confirm the base units on 00812? I have seen 3 and 4 base units.
thank you!

On the CMS website there is a page for the Anesthesiologist Center which has the annual updates to the Anesthesia conversion factors as well as the list of the base codes, which per the page were not updated in CY 2023 & 2024 and there is a spreadsheet with the base units under CY 2022.

The link highlighted in aqua is a zip file that contains the files with all the anesthesia CPT codes, in effect as of CY 2022, and the base units per CPT code. You can download this info as an excel file if you are interested in having the list.

To answer your question, this spreadsheet shows the base units for 00812 is 3 units.

Hi there, the ASA assigns 4 base units, but CMS assigns 3, which is why you've seen two different values.
