If a pt goes with a pacemaker for a battery change with dual leads then upgrades to a cardioverter-defib pulse generator w multiple leads. The multiple leads are not changed. The only thing is he takes out the pacemaker battery and inserts a defib battery. How would you code this battery change> THanks
 
33233 for the pacemaker removal & 33231 for the ICD gen implant w/o lead insertion. These codes are not on the NCCI edit list & should work.
