We are an OB practice. We do urine drug screening on all of our OB patients at their first appt. We are having trouble getting BCBS of NC to pay. We've tried both Z02.83 for the drug screen and Z34.01 or Z34.83 as an OB code. Does anyone have an success and what did you do?
 
I do coding and billing for pain management, and we have a very hard time getting reimbursed for urine drug screens, in fact that is what I'm searching for here as a topic.
 
Are you doing rapid cups or are you sending to a lab? Do you have your own lab? Do you have a clia cert and/or a clia waiver? What cpt codes are you using?
