our providers have been using code R46.89 - other symptoms and signs involving apperance and behavior for behavior concern in child. I am not sure i agree with this code . I am thinking the code F91.9 - conduct disorder unspecified fits better ? Also can be behavioral disorder NOS .. What do you all think how would you code for behavior concern in child without a DX of ADHD or anything like that ?

I work at a children's hospital, and we use F91.9 as a default code for non-specific "behavioral concerns" codes.
