PLEASE HELP!!!! I am new to the world of behavioral health billing and coding and would like to know where you can find resources for this? More specifically, documentation guidelines and coding.
Thanks so much!! ;)

There are a couple books, Coding and billing for Behavioral health care and CPT handbook for psychiatrist. I also suggest reviewing your Medicare local guidelines. Granted not every payer uses the same guidelines, but it will give you a start.

90832-90838 Therapy codes, 90870 ECT, 90875-90876, 90838-90840 Crisis intervention, 90868 & 90869 TMS, 99492, 99493, 99494 Collaborative care. These are the main ones I use daily as well as any E&M code for medication management. Some Medicaid plans require modifiers like HO & AH. these are used in SC to distinguish social workers, therapists and clinical psychologist. I hope this helps.

I have a provider that wants to bill for EMDR Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing but I cant find a cpt code? Can anyone help me

Check your state Medicaid's coverage requirements, and your state's board of medicine (scope of practice for midlevels and clinicians). Medicare, and your local MAC will have a large repository of requirements for behavioral health. As does the Code of Federal Regulations (necessary to know if you take Medicare or Medicaid money).
