Wiki Biceps Tenodesis

my doc does "arthroscopically assisted biceps tenodesis"....ALL he does through scope is tenotomy of biceps w/arthrocare wand......he then does OPEN tenodesis.

not sure if I fit scope code?

not sure if I should code open 23430.......scope 29828

Use 23430. The tenotomy would be included in the arthroscopic tenodesis, therefor, I would only bill the open version 23430.

I am not familiar with surgery codes,

But if we check with NCCI it is allowed with 59 modifier because both procedure where done.

Any procedure started arthroscopically and finished open, you only bill the open procedure, not both.
