I need help understanding how to tell the difference between CPC codes 34802, 34803 and 34804. If the surgeon does not use the terms "docking limbs" how do I identify if there are one or two docking limbs? Also, what is the difference between a modular bifurcated prosthesis and a unibody bifurcated prosthesis? I really need some help on this, please!!!!

Thank you so much,
Karen

I feel your pain. My saving grace was Dr. Z's book which listed the different grafts as they relate to CPT codes: 34802, 34803, 34804 ect. See below.

34802 - AneuRx, Excluder, Talent, Endurant, Gore-Tex

34803 - Cook Zenith

34804 - Powerlink

I don't have my Dr. Z book with me, those are the ones I use most often so I have them documented in my CPT book. If I remember, I will look to see what some of the other are, if I missed any.

HTH
