I can't seem to locate any documentation referring to coding Bilateral Breast Biopsies with the new codes. If both breasts are being biopsied, is it correct to code both breasts using the first lesion CPT (eg.19083-LT & 19083-RT) or, do you use the additional lesion code? We have been getting denials from payors when we use the first lesion code twice.
