I billed a bilateral endoscopic inferior turbinate ablation with code 30140; a left concha bullosa resection with code 31240 and biopsy of nasopharyngeal mass with code 92511. the 92511 was denied as bundled with another procedure. Of course the Dr. says it should be paid as a separate procedure. I've never billed this code separately. Please tell me what you think coders.
 
My Doctors think in this term- If you have to go through it to get to the procedure your doing then its part of the procedure and not a seperate codable thing. And the CCI edits flatly deny coding 31240 with 92511 so there isnt a mod you can use to help with this.
