New patient came in to see doctor last week. We coded 99202 for E/M, but how do we code for bilateral una boot? The patient also came in today to have them taken off and reapplied, no ov charged today.
My thoughts:
29580-50
or
29580-50 with 2 units
or
29580-LT
29580-RT
Patient has Horizon Medicare.

The 29580 code is a unilateral code and a modifier 50 would be appropriate if performed and documented as bilateral. The MUE limit is 1, so you cannot bill on two lines with LT/RT or with 2 units.

1 line, 1 unit, modifier 50
