Is it ok to bill 44207 (Colectomy, partial, with anastomosis, with coloproctostomy) and 44227 (Laparoscopy, surgical, closure of enterostomy, large or small intestine, with resection and anastomosis) together with a 59 modifier? Since the provider went up through the anus would this be considered a "different site" and billable with a 59?
Also, if the provider finds an incisional hernia at the stoma site when closing an enterostomy (44227), can the incisional hernia be billed as well or is that considered part of the "closure" and bundled with 44227? Thank you.
