Wiki Billing 96372 more than once

I know someone can help me with this question.

I was asked if code 96372 can be billed more than once. I have a friend who bills for an internist. This internist had a patient who came in with abdominal pain. He injected 3 different medications into same site. Can he bill for adminstration 3 times. Can you site a source for the answer or give some rationale, that would be helpful. I usually bill for Ortho so this is not my forte, but I've looked everywhere and I know someone here will know. You guys are great! Thanks.

If the mediciations were in the same syringe then only one 96372 can be billed.

I agree that it depends upon whether the meds are all in one syringe or did it require 3 separate sticks...

we give 2 different meds in two different sites, but I've only been billing for one administration, insite would be very helpful on this situation. I'm very insterested to know the answer, and how I can do this correctly.

In this scenario I would code 96372 x2 units.

96372 59

I agree with Debra. We use modifier 59 without any problem. I hope this helps!
