Hello,
I am working in the state of Oregon, where billing for PT benefits is allowed under the scope of practice.
We also are allowed to have Chiropractic Associates (CAs).
In the office I am working in we have the Massage Therapist also licensed as CAs.
When we need massage done, we have the MT/CA do the work and bill under the DC.
Given that it is a separate provider doing the work, do you think we can bill 97140 when indicated? If the DC were to do the 97140 work it would have to be a separate region from adjustment. If we are having a separate provider do the work but still bill under the DC, do you think the separate region is still an issue?
Many of our plans have the 97140 also fall under a PT benefit vs the DC so I don't know if that makes a difference either.
We just want to bill everything correctly and we can bill 97124 but sometimes with the technique and what we are doing 97140 is the most specific code.
