Wiki Billing antepartum to Cigna

None of our Cigna antepartum claims are being paid. They all deny for timely filing. My understanding is you put the first date of service with the through period... such as 1/1/2025 to 7/31/2025. Say she didn't deliver with our physicians, and so we had to go back and bill antepartum. Cigna denies the antepartum claim every time for timely filing! What date am I supposed to use?

When I bill antepartum code I put the last date of the antepartum visit. In the claim notes box I put the date range for the antepartum visits.

I usually had to appeal them, but we used the last date the patient was seen for antepartum in the clinic as the date of service. If they denied it for TF, we would appeal it indicating this patient transferred care or delivered with another physician therefore we are now billing out the antepartum.
