We have been having a lot of Insurance denials on the assistant for the C-section delivery stating denied due to the NCCI edits. I have always billed the Global for the Primary Surgeon (if the OB Pt has been seen during the entire ob care with no change of insurance) and the assistant as the C-section only code with a modifier 80. ie: 59510 and the assistant 59514-80. Where can I find supporting documentation that reflects this is the proper way to bill the Primary Surgeon and Assistant for a c-section delivery??
