Wiki Billing Discharge Summary

Can you bill for a Discharge Summary for PHP patients that have been discharged from the program and if so what would we use?

You may need to look at specific payer guidelines for this, but my suspicion is that since PHP is not consider either inpatient or observation status, a discharge code would probably be inappropriate and would likely be denied. I would recommend using a standard E&M service code based on the location where the service took place (e.g. office or other outpatient E&M).
