Billing E&M for Cardiac Clearance Request During Screening Colon Visit

Hello - My apologies if this questions has been posted, but I was unable to locate a thread that could answer my specific question regarding billing.

While an E&M visit is not billable during a screening colonoscopy visit unless documentation supports additional problems being addressed; but can an E&M be billed if patient is being referred to cardiology for cardiac clearance and gastro provider is only documenting CARDIAC CLEARANCE NEEDED (no med management documented)?

If so, where can I be directed to support billing the E&M in this case?
