A patient was in surgery for laparoscopic cholecystectomy- the provider doing the cholecystectomy called in an obgyn provider to consult on the ovarian cyst and it was suggested to remove it. The provider who removed the gallbladder also removed the ovarian cyst. I'm assuming, I cannot bill anything for the obgyn provider but maybe Im missing something.

If you're the coder for the OBGYN, and he/she wrote a consultation note, and there is a request for the consultation in the surgeon's note, you can bill an E&M/consultation for the OBGYN. Otherwise, you wouldn't bill anything.
