Hi everyone!

Our FQHC recently received a grant to pay a local Physical Therapist and Acupuncturist to treat our patients. The Physical Therapist and Acupuncturist will bill us and we'll pay them a flat rate for every visit as result of our referral. Our contract states that we will be responsible for billing the patients' insurance for any type of payment.

My question: Has anyone been in a similar situation? How do we bill for a provider that does not work in our facility? How will we get reimbursed since these providers are credentialed with insurance companies under a different billing address?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

When billing for contracted services, you will need to add your location and TIN to the provider insurance companies . We done this for an LCSW until we located a permanent solution. You need to attach all your information to the provider NPI and you need to attach the provider NPI to your facility billed claims. You will credential them just like a new provider to your facility.
Hope this helps.
