We have hired an CRNA to do anesthesia for us in our ASC. She is a contract employee and gets paid by an hourly wage. When I sent out our first surgical case with an anesthesia code on it, the anesthesia was denied as being included in the procedure. I know all the anesthesia group we used before billed and were paid for their services. Do I need to put a modifier on it or is this something we are going to have to eat?
