If a doctor is using a C-arm in their office to view bony structures (e.g., in a podiatrist's office), are they supposed to use a fluroscopy code or can they use the "regular" x-ray codes? I just noticed we have a provider that is billing 73620, but i'm pretty sure they do not have a conventional x-ray machine in their office.

Did you ever get an answer on this? I am wondering how to bill the use of a mini c-arm used in the office for fracture alignment.

Fluoroscopy is defined as real-time moving images. Xray is a still image. You cannot bill a fluoro code for an xray, and you cannot bill an xray code for fluoro.
