Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me answer my question. Our physician did an excision on a malignant lesion on the patients' leg and he nicked the patients' vein. He is billing cpt code 11606 but wasn't sure if he has to add anything else because of what happened?

Thank you

I am not sure I would, unless he was bleeding perfusely (998.11). If the doctor just wanted to note it in the chart, then if a complication occurs from the excision, it would be noted.
