Billing for intrepreting services

Has anyone ever billed for interpreting services? Is that allowed?

We have a private practice inside of a hospital and had the advantage of using the hospital's interpretors, however we have just been notified this will no longer be extended to us and will have to pay an outside company which is quite expensive.

Is there anyway we can bill patient's insurance?
 
This has been discussed in this forum quite a bit so if you do a search here you'll find more information. As a general rule, you cannot bill for interpreter services without putting your practice at risk for non-compliance with the ADA law - it's considered a cost of doing business in healthcare.
