Wiki Billing for IUD's

Looking for advice on what amount to charge the insurance companies for the IUD's that our office purchases. I know providers can charge any amount and it's up to the insurance to reimburse based on allowed amounts and contracts. I am looking for a fair percentage to charge over the cost of the IUD. Ex; Kyleena charges $908, BCBS reimburses $894.42. Thank you,

Billing IUDs

I believe we charged about 1.5 times the allowed amount to give a cushion for other insurances. You need to get several prices from various insurances to get an idea of their allowment. You want to have enough that it covers your cost plus profit without inflating your AR. You will end up adjusting off what they don't allow anyway. Hope this helps.
