Anyone can provide a reference that clearly states whether or not an overflow is billable?

Example: The pt receives 46 mg of Taxotere out of 40mg SDV (6mg is an overflow obtained from the same vial).

Thank you

Overflow

Overflow is another word for wastage. There are guidelines for wastage of drugs. Follow your guidelines and check on the payer requirements. Not billing for wastage appropriately can get you in a lot of trouble and the provider will have to pay those monies back.
